ICAN supports the Deer Park Education Foundation
The INEOS ICAN Foundation donated $5000 to the Deer Park Education Foundation (DPEF). Our January 9 donation supports DPEF’s Enrichment Grants program. Over the past 23 years DPEF has awarded over $1.7 million in teaching grants. These grants have helped over 300 Deer Park ISD teachers to provide learning resources for thousands of students. ICAN is pleased to be among the community partners that help DPEF to achieve such success.
ICAN’s Kathryn Shuler and Sara Cassells presented the check. Kathryn is the ICAN Foundation’s Executive Director. Sara is its Marketing and Events Specialist. Meagan Buchanan, repeat INEOS employee-volunteer, was also on hand to present the check.
“I wanted to attend the check presentation ceremony because this is where I grew up and went to school,” said Meagan. “Thank you for including me.”
Accepting the check were Foundation Coordinator Jennifer Torres, and Secretary Kyle Ford. Treasurer Marilyn Sims and Ex-Officio Brenda Cothran were also there. So were Board Members James Weber, James Cermin and Chad Burke. Superintendent of Schools Victor White also joined in the festivities. Victor was the Principal of Meagan’s junior high when she attended school in Deer Park, and the two of them got a chance to catch up after the presentation!
