Such exciting news! The League City Walmart has awarded a $500 grant to the ICAN Foundation to help get kids running! Their gift will let 30 low-income children run in the BOO DASH 5k FUN RUN. Students from McWhirter Elementary in Webster, Texas, will receive the free race entries. McWhirter is one of the ICAN Foundation’s GO Run For Fun partner schools.

Sharon Broomfield is the assistant manager of E Commerce at the League City Walmart. Sharon dropped by the ICAN offices to present the grant to the foundation. Sharon is on the left in the picture above, along with our awesome marketing specialist Sara. It was so much fun to talk to Sharon and we were so excited to learn that she chose us to receive such a wonderful gift. We let her know that Walmart’s gift will help many needy kids in the area to experience a real-life race!

The BOO DASH FUN RUN is a 5k race and Kids’ k that is part of the Running Alliance Sport (RAS) series of runs. RAS holds all its runs in the Houston Gulf-Coast area. RAS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that raises money for local charities. Earnings from the BOO DASH FUN RUN will benefit the INEOS ICAN Foundation and its INEOS GO Run For Fun program. GO Run For Fun aims to get kids exercising and to inspire the next generation of runners!

The BOO DASH is a Halloween-themed run, with so many options for fun. There will be t-shirts, snacks, and trophies for the winners. Plus there will be medals for everyone who finishes the race. On top of that, there will be a costume contest, a haunted tunnel and a trick-or-treating village for kids to enjoy! We are expecting about 500 people to come out and run the race. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the treats that our vendors will have in our haunted village!

Visit http://boodash.org/ to run in the BOO DASH or to sign up your business for a table in the haunted village. We’ll see you there!
