The 2019 ICAN Charity Shootout, the ICAN Foundation’s annual sporting clays tournament, was held on April 13, 2019 at American Shooting Centers in Houston. The event was a huge success, raising $22,280 to support the Foundation’s charitable programs! This $22k will be used to deliver GO Run For Fun runs to almost 3200 children in 5 elementary schools, encouraging kids to develop good exercise habits for a lifetime.

We are so grateful to the 30 sponsoring companies and 160 competitors who joined us on a mild, mostly sunny Saturday to get outside in the fresh air and raise funds in support of our children’s health initiative.

Even a brief rain shower didn’t dampen participants’ spirits or the friendly competition amongst the forty 4-person teams. Maybe they were in a great mood because they started the day well with breakfast tacos cooked onsite by Energy Rental Solutions. Or maybe they were looking forward to their catfish fry lunch, sponsored by Gulf Coastal Services, and an adult beverage sponsored by Suez Water Treatment Systems. Maybe participants appreciated Gulfspan Industrial for being the title sponsor, or liked the hat and t-shirt that Trans-Global Solutions provided for each participant. Or maybe they were just happy to contribute to a good cause.

Congratulations to the top male and female scorers, David Carden and Aryn Anderson, who each won a 2019 edition Charity Shootout belt buckle. First-place team trophies went to David Carden, Clint Jackson, Brian Lockwood and Juan Reyna. Chad Eagleson, Floyd Carrier, Ben Brower, and Chris Santiago each took home a 2nd-place team trophy. We also hope that our raffle winners enjoy their restaurant, theater, sporting goods and waterpark gift cards, and that the winners of the Pelican Long Case and custom steel fire pit make good use of their prizes!

We invite you to join us for all the fun at our 2020 tournament, which will be held on April 4 at American Shooting Centers. And thank you again to all our supporters for showing 3200 local children that exercise can be fun!
