We were delighted to receive this digital thank you postcard from McWhirter Elementary school! Along with the digital postcard came a lovely email from Celita Washburn. She said that all of the kids who participated in the recent Boo Dash Kids’ K had a “fantastic time and loved every moment of the event.”
The kids ran the race wearing their glow-in-the-dark Boo Dash shirts. Thirty-one students received entries paid for with a grant provided by the League City Walmart! As you can see from the pictures, parents, teachers, and volunteers held a big sign cheering on McWhirter’s Astronauts. The Astronaut is McWhirter Elementary’s mascot.
After the Kid’s K, the students were able to run around, playing games and trick-or-treating in our “Haunted Village”. They also visited the “Haunted Tunnel” created by the Dickinson High School Reveliers Drama students. Last but not least, they checked out the cool low-rider cars that were sponsored by the car club Rollerz Only.
Celita said that she hopes we won’t forget about them for future Boo Dash runs. We certainly hope to see the McWhirter Astronauts at next year’s run!
