ICAN expands into Friendswood ISD! Yesterday the Foundation presented the Friendswood Education Foundation (FEF) with a $1500 check. The money will help to fund FEF’s teaching grant program.
Ashley Adair (3rd from the right in the photo, above) accepted the check, which was presented by INEOS employee Ronnie Chaumont (center). Ashley is the Executive Director of FEF. Ronnie is a Maintenance Superintendent at INEOS’s Chocolate Bayou plant. We were very pleased to have Ronnie represent the INEOS ICAN Foundation at the ceremony. Ronnie lives in Friendswood, and his children attended school in the district.
It was a full house at the presentation ceremony. Many members of the FISDEF Board of Directors showed up in support. School Superintendent Thad Roher was there. So was Executive Director of Elementary Teaching and Learning Lauren Ambeau. We talked to Lauren a bit about our INEOS GO Run For Fun program. We told her that ICAN would be happy to bring a fun run to FISD if the district is interested.
After the ceremony, we learned that FEF does something unique with its teaching grants. Each spring, they invite donors to see grant projects in action. We can’t wait for our invitation! We’ll be sure to report back, so that you can learn about the grants’ impact, too.
We also learned that FEF, like ICAN, holds a sporting clays tournament. We’re looking forward to getting together with Ashley soon. We love trading best practices on fun, fundraising events! By the way, the 2020 ICAN Charity Shootout is scheduled for April 4 this year and registration is now open. So if you’re interested in having some fun while supporting a good cause, please check it out.
